Performance of treadmill belts and solutions to common problems
Treadmills have become increasingly popular in ordinary households, becoming the best choice for most people who want to exercise and stay healthy but don't have much time for outdoor activities. Running is almost the simplest yet most effective way of exercising that everyone is born with, and is widely accepted by most people. So besides the motor and control program, the treadmill's running belt is also a very important component.
The treadmill conveyor belt is a component of the treadmill. The common running belts are diamond and golf patterns. The purpose of adding textures is to increase friction by creating a textured finish on the running belt, ensuring a smooth interface and minimizing noise. Common issues include slipping and deviation.
Running belt with textures
The layer of PVC on the surface of the running belt, also known as plastic, has various patterns, with diamond and golf patterns (also known as roughtop patterns) being common. The purpose is to increase friction by creating a textured texture, making it less likely for athletes to fall during running. Therefore, the choice of pattern depends on the buyer's personal usage habits. Generally speaking, diamond patterns have high friction and are suitable for footwear that is more comprehensive. Ice patterns have low friction and require wearing jogging shoes with high grip and softness. However, diamond patterns are not easy to clean, and ice patterns (also known as grass patterns) are easy to organize.
Running belt interface
We can see that the running belt of a treadmill generally has flat and serrated interfaces, but the most important technical point when combined with the roller is the bonding technology, ensuring a smooth interface to keep the running belt running with minimal noise and make running quieter.
Running belt thickness
The running belt is divided into different specifications, ranging from 1.6mm to 4.0mm. Generally, there are various thickness specifications of running belts in China. Some manufacturers emphasize the comfort of being ultra thick and soft. If it is not matched properly with horsepower and rollers, it will inevitably cause excessive burden on the motor and reduce its service life. In Europe and America, there is a greater emphasis on direct ground running, often using ice patterns (also known as grass patterns) and wearing suitable running shoes when using a treadmill to increase comfort and avoid unnecessary sports injuries. So when manufacturers design running belts, they always make the best combination of usability, practicality, and durability.
Running belt structure
The composition of the running belt is composed of the top layer of PVC , the middle layer of polyester mesh, and the bottom layer of warp and weft yarn. The top layer of pvc increases friction, while the back layer of warp and weft yarn reduces friction. The good joint of the two layers of materials is one of the key factors for the excellent quality of the running belt, and polyester mesh (mesh like nylon fiber) is the best medium. The warp and weft yarns are mainly made of mesh nylon fabric, which can effectively prevent deformation of the running belt, extend the service life of the running belt, increase the wear resistance of the bottom layer of the running belt, and greatly reduce friction, improve the conductivity of the running belt, and protect the health of users and equipment.
Common issues with running belts
Slippery
One possibility is that the running belt may be too loose and the balance screw of the rear drum needs to be adjusted. The other possibility is that excessive oil may cause slipping
deviation
One possibility is that the strap itself may not have been properly adjusted, and the other possibility is that many people may have issues with the weight of their left and right feet during exercise, causing the running strap to naturally lean towards the heavier side of their feet
